You arrive at Managua Airport and are met by our guide who will transfer you to León. The center with its colonial buildings, beautiful churches and the cathedral which has been declared as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, are only some of León s many attractions.

In the morning you do a city tour of León´s main sights. Afternoon at leisure, for example a hike on Cerro Negro. Explore the fascinating history of one of Nicaragua s oldest and most influential cities on foot, considered to be Nicaragua s historical, cultural, educational and religious capital. León was dismantled, moved, and rebuilt due to volcanic activities, ransacked (and reconstructed) by pirates, won and lost its struggle as the most important city in Nicaragua against Managua, and presidents were assassinated here. During this guided walking tour, you visit revolutionary murals, baroque and neoclassical churches and an art museum displaying works by internationally renowned artists.

You will head South to the port of San Jorge where you will take the ferry to Isla de Omatepe (Omatepe Island), a beautiful island in Lake Nicaragua. Along the way you will make a stop at Mombacho Volcano for a short crater hike. Omatepe has served as home to indigenous tribes and cultures for many centuries, of which the may pre-Colombian petroglyphs bear silent witnesses. The two volcanoes on the island, Concepcion and Maderas, offer stunning views when approaching Ometepe by boat from the mainland.

You head south to the port of San Jorge where you get on the ferry to Isla de Ometepe, a beautiful island in Lake Nicaragua. Along the way you make a stop at Mombacho volcano for a short crater hike. You start this adventurous tour of Ometepe´s natural treasures at Peña Inculta, a reserve where groups of whitefaced and howler monkeys live. Other species to be found here are goutis, squirrels, iguanas and tropical birds such as trogons, wrens and parrots. Afterwards you will go to the historical coffee hacienda Finca Magdalena, which was constructed in 1888.

You take the ferry back to San Jorge and continue to Granada. Here you do a tour of the city. Granada was founded in 1524 and is believed to be the second oldest city established in mainland Latin America by the Spanish conquest. During colonial times, Granada saw much unrest as the city was attacked several times by pirates. Nowadays, Granada is characterized by brightly colored Spanish-colonial architecture, visible throughout the city center. The Cities' ambiance is very pleasant and there is a wide array of popular restaurants and bars, especially along the boulevard from the central park to the shores of Lake Nicaragua. A city tour by horsedrawn carriage will give you a good sense of the rich history and authenticity of Spanish-colonial Granada.

Morning boat tour of nearby Las Isletas, (the little islands) followed by a tour of the Masaya volcano and market, then Return to Granada. The tour starts at Masaya Volcano National Park. Your driver will bring you to the summit of the volcano, where you can peek inside the active crater. Your next stop is Masaya´s artisan market, where you can purchase quality Nicaraguan handicrafts. Situated at the foot of Mombacho volcano, Las Isletas consist of around 360 small islands, formed by a volcanic eruption 20,000 years ago. You are transferred to the harbor where you meet the captain and you board a motor boat. During the tour your guide points out the exotic flora and fauna you encounter.

You are transferred to Managua Airport for your domestic flight to the Corn Islands. Transfer to the port of Big Corn for the public boat to Little Corn. This is the place to go, when you are looking for time to relax and spend in silence. The smaller one of the two Corn Islands located in the Atlantic, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) away from the coast, is a true paradise. White sand beaches with coconut trees and coral reefs are inviting you to stay a few days. The island can be reached within one hour by boat from Big Corn, but unlike the bigger island, there are no cars or motorbikes on this island.

Day at leisure on Little Corn Island. You can enjoy the lukewarm Caribbean Sea, relax at the beach, go diving or snorkeling, or explore the small island.

The reefs around the Corn Islands offer excellent snorkeling.The Corn Islands are surrounded by a barrier reef system which is a unique underwater ecosystem for snorkeling and scuba diving. Whether snorkeling from the beach or on a dive excursion with one of the local dive operators, you can expect to see a wide variety of corals, sponges, tropical fish, rays, schools of snapper, turtles and even dolphins. With the expert local guides, you will be taken to the places where there are the most colorful fish and coral.

You take the boat back to Big Corn and fly back to Managua. Overnight. Managua is the capital of Nicaragua, home to almost two million inhabitants and is easily the largest city in Nicaragua. The city has a lot to offer its visitors: theatres, restaurants, night clubs, bars, and cinemas to name a few. At Roberto Huembes market, you can experience an authentic Nicaraguan street market and buy well made souvenirs and handicrafts.
